Your licence no longer gets forgotten.
Some activated copies of Archyv dropped back to the free trial on the next launch, over and over, even though the licence was valid and paid for. The cause was in the routine check Archyv makes to confirm a licence is still good: the answer it got back was one it misread as “this licence does not exist”, so it deleted the licence it had just successfully loaded.
If this happened to you, it is already fixed — the licence server side of it was corrected on 30 July 2026 and every installed copy picked that up automatically, with nothing to reinstall and no key to re-enter.
This update fixes the other half, on your Mac, so it cannot happen again from a different cause:
- Archyv now only clears a stored licence when the licence server gives it a clear, explicit answer — that the licence was revoked, or that this device was never activated. Anything unclear, such as a network problem or a server outage, is treated as “could not check right now” and falls back on the normal offline grace period.
- Your Mac’s activation identity is no longer thrown away when a check fails. Previously that could make a later re-activation look like a brand-new computer and use up a second seat on your licence.
- “Remove this device” now genuinely releases the seat, and only tells you it did when the server confirms it. Before, it reported success either way, so a seat could stay in use after you thought you had freed it.
- The one-tap “activate again” prompt works. It was previously unable to re-activate at all.
